Types Of Automatic Transmissions

Automatic Transmission which was once reserved for the premium segment is now a common part of low budget cars. Increasing traffic on roads has made more and more customers shift to the clutchless transmission. With the growing demand new automatic transmission technologies have come up in the market. Types Of Automatics 1)Automatic (Torque Converter) The oldest form of automatic transmission is the Torque Converter. This transmission uses hydraulic fluid coupling to change gears instead of a clutch. PROS 1) Highly Reliable 2) Smooth Gear Shifts CONS 1) Heavier Weight 2) Less Fuel Efficiency 3) Higher Price 2) Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) This is the latest type of Automatic Transmission in the market. This is just a regualar manual gearbox where instead of using a clutch the gears are changed using sensors. PROS 1) Most Affordable Type Of Automatic 2) Fuel Efficient CONS 1) Jerks During Gear Shifts 2) Laggy Performance 3) Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) This type of au

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NATURALLY ASPIRATED ENGINE AND TURBOCHARGED ENGINE

Turbocharged Engines are not something new but the use of these engines in budget cars is a new trend. Turbocharging simply increases the power output without significantly increasing the engine's weight. Now comes the most frequently asked question "Is a turbocharged engine better than a naturally aspirated engine?" Maintenance & Reliability A Turbocharged Engine is a lot more complex machinery when compared to the Naturally Aspirated Engines. Being a complex machine it is made up of more number parts so more parts mean more chances of wear and tear. This means maintaining a naturally aspirated engine is easier and cost effective. Power & Torque This is where a Turbocharged Engine beats a naturally aspirated engine. A smaller sized engine still producing more power thanks to the Turbo attached making it more powerful. But the problem with Turbocharged engines is the low end turbo lag because in these engines you need to wait for the turbo to kick in. This dela
